Responsibilities

Design & execute tests using DoE and other statistical analysis techniques, from component level to integrated subassemblies
Perform hands-on thermal, optomechanical, and materials testing in both the lab and real-world environments
Interpret optical, thermal, electrical, and mechanical metrics and evaluate design options
Validate FEA models
Guide assembly process development to ensure alignment to performance requirements
Conduct reliability testing, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for prototype and production devices

Required

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science or related field (BSc with 6+ years of experience, MS with 3+ years)
Expertise in Finite Element Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Experience in data acquisition tools and techniques, including sensors & instrumentation
Experience in failure analysis methods and tools, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
Collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines is a must
Ability to communicate complex results & issues clearly and concisely

Preferred

Experience in vacuum and cryogenic environments
