Vasudevan Lab - Junior, Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist
The University of California, San Francisco is seeking a highly motivated scientist for a Junior through Full Specialist position in the laboratory of Dr. Harish Vasudevan. This role focuses on understanding the tumor suppressor gene neurofibromin and developing novel therapeutic approaches, while performing various molecular biology and genomic assays.

Responsibilities
Perform in vitro cell culture assays, qRT-PCR, molecular biology cloning, CRISPR gene editing, biochemistry, and next generation sequencing assays including single cell genomics
Keep detailed records, collect/analyze results, and regularly present data to the team
Perform cell and tissue sample preparation for genomic and biochemical assays
Qualification
Required
Specialists appointed at the junior rank must possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience (e.g., with instrumentation and research equipment, social science research methods, or creative activities)
Specialists appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master's degree or a baccalaureate degree with 3 or more years of research experience
Specialists appointed at the Associate rank must possess a master's degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization
Specialists appointed at the full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience in the relevant specialization
Strong organizational and communication skills
Initiative to work independently and efficiently is expected
Enthusiasm for scientific discovery and translational medicine
Willingness to work as part of a team based scientific program
Effective use of laboratory instruments and their maintenance; knowledge of biomedical and biotechnological techniques and methodologies
Working knowledge in tissue culture and basic molecular biology (including immunoblotting, cloning, viral transduction methods, PCR, and immunofluorescence)
