Manager, Card Services
Soqquadro Italiano is a company dedicated to the wellbeing of its members. The Card Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Card Services team, ensuring efficient service delivery, compliance with policies, and driving growth in card portfolios.
Responsibilities
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the Card Services Team. Champion team development through structured coaching, mentoring and performance feedback
Ensure the team meets or exceeds established service goals and provides exceptional service to every member, every time
Assess and redesign existing workflows to improve clarity and efficiency. Develop and deliver training to ensure team members understand and adhere to operational procedures. Conduct annual review of procedures to ensure they remain current
Identify and utilize vendor reporting tools to proactively monitor cardholder activity, detect anomalies, and address member issues before escalation
Oversee card issuance, maintenance, and processing for debit and credit card programs. Ensure quality by monitoring exception reports and developing processes to review new accounts, adjustments, and maintenance performed
Serve as an escalation point for complex member issues and inquiries, ensuring proper resolution, documentation and communication
Collaborate with vendors and processors to resolve issues and implement enhancements
Analyze operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Prepare and review reports to track KPIs and service levels
Assist the Accounting Team with research and reconciliation of card-related GL accounts
Assist in the development and implementation of new card products, services, and promotions
Participate in audits and risk assessments related to card services
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., Reg E, Reg Z, PCI-DSS) and internal policies
Maintain an understanding of the interdependency of our core operating systems, ancillary products and vendor systems to ensure efficient and effective integration of those systems. Perform testing and validation with each change
Develop working relationships with other departments to ensure timely updates and communication to staff across the credit union
Drive innovation in card services by staying informed of industry trends and emerging technologies. Recommend and implement enhancements that improve member experience and operational performance
Coordinate projects, guide implementation, develop testing plans for system enhancements ensuring documentation and procedures are updated timely
Coordinate/assist with testing and validation for system updates and implementations
Perform other duties as needed to support the organization
Qualification
Required
Aptitude for cognitive and critical thinking skills along with sound decision-making to include the ability to prioritize, delegate, and quickly act upon urgent matters
Aptitude to take initiative and work independently with little or no supervision
Ability to lead, motivate and develop team in a fast-paced environment
Proficient knowledge of card processing platforms (Visa DPS, Instant Issue and PSCU/Velera systems) and Visa rules and regulations
Strong knowledge of credit/debit card operations, contactless payments, and mobile wallet technology
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and core banking systems
Understanding of general accounting principles and GL balancing
3-5 years relevant professional experience, especially in Card Services, strongly preferred
2 or more years of supervisory experience
Preferred
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred
