Director of Social Services (New Program)
Urban Pathways is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting New York City’s vulnerable residents. The Director of Social Services will oversee clinical and case management functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and promoting an equitable and inclusive organizational culture.

Responsibilities
Manages and ensures that performance-based incentives and all other goals of the program are met
Provides leadership to program staff
Manages and develops staff, including coaching, training and mentoring
Meets weekly with all direct reports for individual supervision
Housing documentation and placement

Oversee/monitor all clinical provisions of the program for clients, including but not limited to casework, case plans, housing placements, substance abuse/MICA counseling, incident reporting, investigation documentation, and all other activities
Oversee all quality improvement monitoring functions including, but not limited to 360 case reviews, Utilization Reviews, and Service Plan reviews
Reviews all case records to ensure quality improvement and compliance with Urban Pathways, funding and regulatory agencies, including incident reporting and investigation documentation
Coordinate clinical meetings with case management staff and other inter-disciplinary teams
Participates in the development of Urban Pathways program policies and procedures
Oversee the on-site medical and psychiatric services including medication management
Liaises and coordinates client services with psychiatric and medical providers
Is on call to address emergency needs on a twenty-four-hour basis
Prepares, maintains and submits timely and accurate statistical and other reports mandated by Urban Pathways, regulatory and funding agencies
Assesses, coordinates and facilitates staff Training
Provides back-up administrative coverage in the absence of the Program Director as needed
Monitors and ensures accuracy of employee timekeeping and payroll systems
Ensures timely evaluations of social service staff, identifying areas for improvement and corrective actions as needed
Collaborates with the Program Director and Human Resources to recruit, hire and onboard new program staff
Manges AWARDS and other systems to ensure that all necessary client data is accurate and timely
Ensure paper and electronic charts comply with Urban Pathways and regulatory agency standards
Maintains social service staffing schedule according to program needs and Urban Pathways and funding agency requirements
Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with community services and resources
Represents Urban Pathways at governmental, community or agency meetings, as required
Communicates verbally and in writing in a professional manner at all times
Facilitates/attends meetings, trainings, and supervisor sessions
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other related field required
Five years of experience supporting adults experiencing mental illness and/or multiple challenges (MICA), including five years of clinical and supervisory experience required
Experience working in an SRO or any residential program setting preferred
Familiarity with programs relevant to funding source regulations required
Experience with individuals experiencing homeless and/or mentally illness and substance abuse population preferred
Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Outlook, etc.)
Strong skills and knowledge of client relational databases (e.g. Awards preferred)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in delivery service
Work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
A valid driver's license is required, with an acceptable driving record that complies with our insurance policy standards
Valid professional licenses and certifications, if applicable
May be required to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, lift (up to 25 lbs.)
Desire to perform the essential functions of this job
