Assistant Director of Instructional Design & Assessment Systems
Tulane University is seeking an Assistant Director of Instructional Design & Assessment Systems who will lead the development and improvement of online instructional content within the Nursing Program. This role involves collaborating with faculty to design interactive online courses, managing assessment technologies, and providing support and training for instructional staff.

Responsibilities
Overseeing Canvas operations, preparing courses for each academic term, and managing the integration and configuration of assessment platforms such as ExamSoft and ATI
Ensuring that exams are accurately mapped to learning outcomes and Bloom’s taxonomy levels and supporting faculty in interpreting performance data to inform instructional decisions
Providing technical support and mentorship to faculty, leading training workshops on instructional technologies, and acting as the primary troubleshooter and 'super user' for educational tools used in the program
Monitoring instructional quality, conducting periodic evaluations, and developing documentation to support instructional design processes
Serving as a liaison between the Nursing Program and external vendors, campus departments, and professional colleagues, recommending innovative technologies to enhance teaching and learning and contributing to the overall operational and instructional success of the program
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated ability to utilize instructional technologies to design, develop, and manage online or blended instruction
Knowledge of current and emerging technologies for online teaching and learning
Proficiency with streaming audio and video, compression methods, file types, and formats
Proficient use of learning management systems such as Canvas and online conferencing software (e.g., Zoom)
Understanding of media products for use in online courses, including video, audio podcasts, and graphics
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneously
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to both faculty and staff
Highly proficient in online course development and assessment skills
Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, Training and Development, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, online course development, or educational technology in a higher education or healthcare-related setting
Experience managing learning management systems (preferably Canvas) and assessment platforms (e.g., ExamSoft, ATI)
Demonstrated experience collaborating with faculty and subject matter experts to develop and revise curriculum
Preferred
Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, Training and Development, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in online education, course development, and assessment
1 year of experience in nursing education
