Senior Utilities Accountant

The Senior Utilities Accountant will be responsible for calculating utility recovery for tenants, overseeing utility usage, rates, and financial impacts, while collaborating with various internal teams to maximize revenue recovery.

Responsibilities

Timely and accurate utilities and renewable energy credits, and annual true up billings to tenants
Develop, utilize, and maintain utility billing system with specific attention to changes in tenants and data centers
Flux analysis over varying periods of time
Balance sheet reconciliations for utilities, and renewable energy credits
Develop, utilize, and maintain data analytic tools to track and analyze patterns in usage, cost and revenue recovery by tenant and data center for purposes of reporting and projected future state forecast
Partner with operations, finance, sustainability, legal to deliver best in class products
Help with the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures document for each operating data center
Collaboration with internal teams
Deadline driven
Occasional nights and weekends

Required

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in utility management, revenue management, or a similar role within the data center, facilities management, or energy sector
Understands cost allocation, financial modeling, and technical accounting terms
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (NetSuite, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
Willingness to read and understand tenant lease agreements
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present professional technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to identify issues and corrective actions in a fast-paced environment
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must pass a comprehensive background screening

Preferred

Master's degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field
