Senior IT Systems Administrator

The Senior IT Systems Administrator will support Trident’s C4I product infrastructure for Department of Defense customers, focusing on Linux and Windows OS administration, security settings, and system maintenance.

Responsibilities

Manage and administer user accounts, perform server subsystem configuration, install software, perform backups, configuration management and general system maintenance
Install, configure, and administer computer equipment, operating systems, and software to provide a robust and secure infrastructure that supports the C4I products
Support the operations and maintenance of Linux systems (Debian-based) and Windows systems to maintain operational availability and a strong security posture through system configuration and patching maintenance
Apply thorough diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions on the operational server infrastructure
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all troubleshooting procedures
Continuously evaluate, document, and implement all aspects of the supporting infrastructure, including weekly audits, patches and updates, establishing user accounts, updating hardware, software, maintenance logs, etc
Document information regarding proposed changes to the hardware, software, and firmware components of the system operating environment(s)
Identify and develop new means and methods to support the deployment and operational use of one or more of Trident’s C4I products
Ability to support travel or off-site work, as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 6 years of related experience OR graduate degree and 4 years of experience OR 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
Security+ Certification
Debian/Ubuntu and Windows Server/Workstation administration experience in a DoD or similarly regulated environment
Familiarity with OS and software configuration and deployment tools (i.e. Git, CI/CD pipeline, etc.)
Hands-on VMWare ESXi (or Azure/AWS EC2) provisioning, snapshot, and patching experience
Experience with TCP/IP, DHCP, and NTP troubleshooting
Familiar with CUI data handling and DoD patch-management cycles
Experience with Antivirus and endpoint-protection management
Ability to obtain a US government Secret security clearance which requires US citizenship

Preferred

Familiarity with CUI requirements for unclassified IT systems is preferred
