Moffatt & Nichol is a leading U.S.-based global infrastructure advisor specializing in waterfront infrastructure projects. They are seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 in their Honolulu office to assist with the analysis, design, and inspection of waterfront structures and other maritime projects.

Responsibilities

Analysis, design, inspection of waterfront structures, asset management, and other maritime projects

Structural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete and composite materials

Prestressed concrete analysis and design

Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed

Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project

Calculate construction quantity estimates

Work closely with other architects, engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects

Office construction administration including review of shop drawings and technical submittals

Perform construction site inspections and prepare inspection reports

Required

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil engineering with a Structural Emphasis

Must be a rising Junior in your Bachelor's degree program

Working towards an EIT certification

Ability to perform field investigations

Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history

All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
