Design Build Integration Manager

Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and internal preconstruction teams to review and influence design documents for constructability, cost efficiency, and schedule optimization
Lead constructability reviews and design charrettes at conceptual, schematic, design development, and permit/construction document milestones
Identify design gaps, potential coordination issues, and scope ambiguities early; work with design partners to resolve proactively
Evaluate building systems, materials, and sequencing for mission critical projects to ensure they meet project performance criteria and RO construction standards
Serve as the primary liaison between design partners and RO’s project operations teams
Facilitate structured design coordination meetings and drive follow-through on action items
Partner with project leadership, estimating, scheduling, and MEP coordination teams to align design decisions with budget and timeline constraints
Build strong relationships with external design partners to foster a collaborative, problem-solving culture
Leverage knowledge of mission critical facility design standards (e.g., Tier levels, redundancy requirements, equipment layouts) to provide informed feedback
Integrate BIM/VDC workflows to support clash detection, model coordination, and prefabrication opportunities
Support early procurement strategies by ensuring design packages are aligned with vendor and trade partner needs
Support Design-Build and Progressive Design-Build pursuits by contributing constructability insights during proposal and interview phases
Partner with Preconstruction to develop design schedules, deliverable expectations, insight on project budget and milestone coordination plans
Provide input on risk identification and mitigation strategies related to design scope
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field required
8+ years of experience in construction, architecture, or engineering
Strong understanding of building systems, construction sequencing, and design documentation
Familiarity with BIM platforms (Navisworks, Revit, Procore, Bluebeam) and model coordination workflows
Ability to interpret and redline architectural/engineering drawings
Preferred
Experience with mission critical facilities or other highly technical projects strongly preferred
