Game Director - Pirates

The Game Director will oversee the presentation of Pirates game telecasts, ensuring high-quality broadcasts and collaborating with various production teams to enhance viewer experience.

Responsibilities
Direct Pirates game telecasts in person, both home and road, as scheduled by the Director of Production & Operations
Collaborate with SNP management on crew, production, and talent coaching and feedback
Ensure all content and presentation meets industry and NESN/SNP network standards for integrity and production quality
Assign, along with Tech MGR and Game Producer, technical positions for each game; including cameras, replay, video, utilities, A2’s, V2’s
Coordinate camera locations with Pirates/PNC Park or home team/ballpark personnel prior to each event
Coordinate with Technical Director for visual elements, feeds, cameras and sets
Coordinate with the Game Producer and Announcers on elements related to each event
Participate in MLB Broadcast Meetings and/or Calls as required
Partner with Studio Director for B-Roll, warmups, interviews and any other necessary support of pregame and postgame coverage
Direct Spring Training telecasts from SNP’s control room & direct regular season telecasts on-site for both home & road games
Full Set Days: coordinate planning for and lead execution of full cabling and/or setup days with Game Producer and Operations manager
While Pirates Baseball is the primary focus of this role, the Game Director may also be asked to direct additional telecasts, shows, pregame and/or postgame shows, within reason, as required
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Intimate knowledge of baseball nuance, team/league history, and team/league storylines
Deep understanding of live sports production techniques, technology, and integration across various situations and platforms
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong leadership and collaboration skills with attention to detail
