Responsibilities
Interacts with clients attending client, architect, and contractor meetings, reviewing structural documentation, and supervising/mentoring junior staff
Oversight of design calculations, preparation of the construction documents, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, site reviews, and RFI responses
Coordinates information across all disciplines to ensure deliverables are compliant with client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels
Performs QA/QC of work performed by others
Mentors and provides oversight to engineering team. Responsible for the learning, professional development, and growth of the assigned team, as well as training and career development
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Active Professional Engineer license
15+ years' experience in structural engineering
Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to ETABS, SAFE, SAP, Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, Tekla, etc
Project management experience/ability
Structural design experience utilizing different construction materials and structural systems; including but not limited to steel, concrete, and masonry design in low to mid-rise structures
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines, and bring each to completion
Must demonstrate team leadership ability, and ability to train and mentor younger engineers
Preferred
Master's degree
Working knowledge of Revit
