Supervisor Sterile Processing - Overnights
Children's Nebraska is the region’s only full-service pediatric healthcare center, dedicated to providing excellent care for kids. The Supervisor of Sterile Processing is responsible for overseeing the Sterile Processing area, ensuring compliance with policies, and managing personnel to maintain service quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Supervises and has 24-hour accountability for Sterile Processing in order to accomplish organizational and departmental strategic goals and objectives
Supervises and operates the Sterile Processing area and all of its related systems in an efficient, effective manner
Directs the preparation of sterile supplies, instruments and equipment
Coordinates the routine activities of the Sterile Processing staff, plans and schedules work for the group
Responsible for tracking sterile processing data, performance improvement documentation, and administrative records
Maintains an adequate level of instruments in circulation, reordering replacements when necessary, and schedule and control all instrumentation repairs in a cost effective and efficient manner
Serves as the administrator of the SPM instrument tracking system, is expert in all facets of its operation, maintains and updates the data base as necessary, produces monthly reports and documentation as requested by Distribution Manager and Director of Materials Management
Coordinates and ensures CEU’s are available for staff to maintain current certification status
Mentors and provides guidance to staff for continued development and expectations of the department
Prioritizes and coordinates daily work activities
Provides leadership and guidance by sharing expertise with others
Approves schedules and monitors time worked
Trains and/or oversees the training of employees on job related tasks
Conducts employee performance management duties including completion and delivery of performance evaluations, setting goals, dissemination of information, coaching, addressing performance issues/routine correction actions, and recommending termination of employment
Submits notifications for personnel actions (e.g., status changes, terminations)
May participate in selection, hiring, and salary recommendations
Ensures cost effective use of resources by identifying and implementing changes related to staff allocation and assignment, and patient/department supplies
Ensures compliance with quality assurance, safety practices, policies and record keeping standards
May assist with the development and maintenance of policies and procedures
May participate in the implementation of business plans for the area
May assist with annual budget by tracking expenses and providing input for future budget needs
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or G.E.D Required
Minimum 3 years of healthcare Sterile Processing or Surgical Technologist experience Required
CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Required
Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician Required
Employees that have Surgical Technologist certification must obtain the Sterile Processing Technician certification within 1 Year Required
Preferred
Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in science, or related field Preferred
Minimum 1 year's supervisory experience preferred, preferably in a healthcare setting Preferred
