Senior Accountant

Sensys Gatso USA, part of the Sensys Gatso Group in Sweden, is celebrating their 61st year in photo enforcement. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the finance department, performing a full range of accounting tasks including banking activities, month-end activities, and collaboration with external auditors.

Responsibilities

Work as a key member of the finance department demonstrating a deep understanding of professional accounting
Perform daily and weekly cash accounting and bank reconciliations
Create and maintain support schedules for prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and general expenses
Manage all aspects of fixed assets, WIP tracking, capitalization vs expense, depreciation, and disposals
Record journal entries, review supporting workpapers, reconcile accounts, and prepare month-end closing reports
Assist in preparing the annual budget and semi-annual reforecasts
Prepare budget to actual analyses on a monthly basis, interpret KPIs, and key trends
Participate in month-end closing meetings with Management (President and CFO)
Work with external auditors for the annual financial statement audit and tax returns. Prepare workpapers for the financial statement audit
Maintain annual report calendar and file online submissions on a routine basis
Collaborate with other departments to obtain information needed to reconcile general ledger accounts
Troubleshoot account reconciliation variances and resolve timely
Ad hoc report analysis using extensive spreadsheet skills including pivot tables, vlookup formulas, etc
Other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum of 3+ years of related accounting experience
Ability to work independently and take full ownership of assigned tasks
Knowledge of internal controls and US GAAP
Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks with daily, weekly and monthly deliverables
Organized, detail oriented, and quality-focused
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient with Google Office Suite or Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with ERP systems

Preferred

Public accounting experience or audit experience is a plus
