Responsibilities
Performing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) watershed analysis and modeling for river mechanics / Floodplain Studies
Preparation or modification of drainage design on CADD drawings/ construction plan documents
Water quality, quantity, design per VA DEQ regulations
Storm sewer system design and profiles
Erosion and sediment control design
Bridge/culvert hydraulics and design, including scour analysis
Performing GIS based project background mapping
Utilization of H&H modeling software
Technical report preparation
Construction cost estimating
Some field work may be required; therefore, the candidate will need a vehicle or access to transportation for this position
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering with 5-10 years of relevant experience
Licensed as a Registered Professional Engineer required
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
Some field work may be required; therefore, the candidate will need a vehicle or access to transportation for this position
Preferred
Experience designing drainage, stormwater management systems/BMP's, erosion and sediment pollution controls; and preparing contract documents
Experience with H/H design software including HY-8, NRCS (TR-55/TR-20); HydroCAD, StreamStats, HEC-RAS, Pondpack et. al
Hands-on experience with MicroStation CADD software. Understanding of 3D design, including OpenRoads Designer, a plus
