BRIDGE ENGINEER, PE - TRANSPORTATION PLANNING & DESIGN
EMH&T is seeking a Bridge Engineer, PE to join their Transportation Planning & Design team in Columbus, OH. The role involves collaborating with the project team to develop solutions for design and construction challenges, focusing on highway and roadway design, drainage design, and coordination with regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the project team to develop creative solutions to address client needs and solve design and construction challenges
Lead design and tasks for structural efforts to support public and private infrastructure and development, including unique and non-standard projects
Participate in the development of contract plans, the preparation of engineer's estimates and construction specifications and performing field support services
Develop reports/studies, specifications, plans, and designs for projects of varying magnitude and for multiple clients
Assure that the project is completed within the allocated period of time and within the budget that has been assigned
Maintain liaison with individuals and units within or outside his organization with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters
Qualification
Required
Profession licensed in Ohio
Bachelors Degree (or advanced degree, MS) in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Engineering preferred
Design experience with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, straight and curved steel beams required
Prior work experience in the Civil Engineering Industry is required, including familiarity with CAD and design software, including: OpenRoads and OpenBridge Designer and/or AutoCAD/Civil3D, Merlin Dash, MIDAS, AASHTO BrR, Leap Bridge, PyWall, L-Pile
Prior structural work experience with public transportation projects (i.e., ODOT, Municipal, and County) including familiarity with steel and reinforced concrete designs conforming to ODOT and AASHTO Specifications is required
Experience acting as technical lead on project of various complexity and must be able to effectively communicate and multi-task in a team environment
Ability to demonstrate coursework in structural engineering and relevant career experience designing bridges, culverts, retaining walls, foundations, and related structures
Preferred
Bachelors Degree (or advanced degree, MS) in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Engineering preferred
Experience with wood and masonry a plus
Experience with railroad structures and AREMA Specifications a plus
Bridge inspection experience is also a plus
