Field Engineer
Banker Steel is a company that supports construction management and oversees various project-based tasks. The Field Engineer will consult with the construction team, manage project logistics, and ensure safety compliance while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
Construction
Responsibilities
Maintenance of logs and drawings which include field drawings, lost time notifications, field overtime log, and daily/monthly crane inspection checklist
Working with the Superintendent and Foremen to determine any issues with erecting steel and documenting the issue appropriately
Recommending fixes to any field issues to the Engineer of Record in a clear and concise manner to facilitate timely approval
Helping the Foreman and Project Managers identify and solve any conflicts with steel erection and/or crane activities. Coordinate with GC, surveyors, subcontractors and others to ensure project timeline is met
Steel delivery coordination
Attend weekly project meetings
Assisting with managing field budget and controlling hours and costs
Facilitating pricing of extra costs to present to Owner/Construction Manager
Track project activities and assign cost codes/force accounts to them
Facilitate coordination of crane activities such as lift plans, crane jumps, etc
Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
2+ years of experience is preferred but not required or 5 years of experience in a similar role
Strong technical and communication skills

BA in Construction Management or Engineering or 5 years of experience in structural steel fabrication and erection
Access to NYC and ability to be in the office full time
Familiarity with structural drawings and construction technology
