Part-Time Security Officer (Armed)

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned areas of SubTropolis to monitor for safety hazards, unauthorized activity, and general compliance with Hunt Midwest policies and local laws
Enforce company regulations, municipal ordinances, and state/federal laws under the authority granted by the KCPD Private Officers Licensing Unit
Respond to incidents involving trespassing, disturbances, motor vehicle accidents, and medical emergencies with professionalism and care
Conduct routine inspections of lighting, fire protection systems, and other critical safety infrastructure
Serve as a courteous and helpful presence to employees, tenants, and visitors, offering assistance, directions, or escorts as needed
Respond to service calls in a prompt and customer-focused manner, prioritizing the safety of all individuals on Hunt Midwest property
Represent the Hunt Midwest Security team with integrity, discretion, and strong interpersonal judgment
Complete accurate, timely reports following incidents, enforcement actions, or service-related calls
Document findings from inspections and patrols according to department protocols
Maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and uphold the standards of the Security department in all aspects of the role
Participate in trainings, briefings, or special assignments as required by Security leadership

Required

Valid Class A Armed Private Security Officer License issued by the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners
Possession of a valid driver's license for operating company vehicles on patrol
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in stressful or emergency situations
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to de-escalate conflict and communicate with professionalism
Familiarity with law enforcement procedures, safety inspections, and emergency response best practices
Strong attention to detail in observation, documentation, and decision-making
Ability to work independently and follow established procedures with sound judgment
Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and team collaboration
Physical ability to walk long distances and respond quickly on foot when necessary
Successful completion of a pre-employment psychological evaluation
