HWC Engineering is a full-service consulting engineering firm that provides various services to both public and private sectors. They are seeking a Planning Project Manager to lead public participation, prepare action plans, and create visually engaging planning documents for Indiana cities, towns, and counties.

Responsibilities

Lead background research, analysis, and GIS mapping to support project planning

Facilitate public participation activities to identify issues, opportunities, and priorities

Collaborate to recommend strategies to address needs and promote economic and community development

Travel to and facilitate public and steering committee meetings across the state of Indiana, including evening meetings

Lead interim and final planning documents including writing, mapping, and graphic design

Interact effectively with others including elected officials, local government staff, steering committee members, consulting firms partnering with HWC, and HWC staff

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in planning, urban design, public policy, landscape architecture or a related field

6+ years of professional experience preparing long range community plans such as comprehensive plans, thoroughfare plans, or district plans

Excellent graphic design skills

Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite

Experience with ArcGIS

Excellent communication and writing skills

Ability to think critically, manage time and problem solve

Strong data analysis and organizational skills

Reliable transportation

Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
