Responsibilities

Maintain and manage open issues related to design projects. Monitor project status and report progress through departmental documentation. Organize and lead customer design reviews and buyoffs
Interpret project scope and manage internal and customer-driven changes
Develop new processes and tooling content to enhance design efficiency. Release mechanical designs to processing and collaborate with manufacturing and process departments
Supervise and support a team of technical professionals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project timelines. Allocate tasks and responsibilities based on employee skill sets, project needs, and deadlines. Foster a collaborative and accountable work environment through regular check-ins, performance feedback, and mentorship
Lead and mentor the mechanical design team through effective communication, coaching, and development. Oversee the submission, accuracy, and approval of employee timecards in accordance with company policy. Support performance evaluations and participate in hiring processes. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Coordinate team activities and ensure alignment with customer and program specifications. Assist the Mechanical Design Manager in planning and scheduling design activities
Perform additional duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or GED required
5+ years of experience in mechanical design with Expertise in Body-In-White weld fixtures (Resistance or MIG)
5+ years of experience in leading technical professionals
Proficient in NX, Inventor, Unigraphics, Catia and Teamcenter
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
