Responsibilities

Drive new sales and increase client retention by collaborating with Managing Directors, Producers, Regional Practice Leaders, National Sales Team, Service Professionals, and Executive Leadership to deliver best-in-class services, solutions, and products to clients and prospects
Partner with field teams to launch and lead new business initiatives that empower colleagues to achieve top-line growth through strong client relationships, with success measured by organic net cash flow growth, client retention, corporate earnings, and carrier partner expansion
Develop and communicate compelling, consistent service delivery models tailored to client segments, promoting growth and enhancing the Alera Group brand
Create and own intellectual capital for the Employee Benefits Practice by developing tools and solutions that drive growth; facilitate open and collaborative dialogue with field leaders to advance the practice
Establish clear goals, objectives, and metrics to manage team and individual performance within a performance-based culture; provide regular feedback, coaching, and support for professional development
Evaluate team structure and effectiveness, cascading communication and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment
Oversee all regional Employee Benefits operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and maintaining the highest ethical standards in business and personal relationships
Research and stay current on competitive strategies and industry best practices; identify emerging trends and proactively share knowledge to drive initiatives and support change management
Hold full P&L responsibility for the National Employee Benefits team, ensuring alignment with Alera Group’s business objectives and strategic growth plans

Required

Bachelor's degree in business or related field (finance, accounting, HR management, business administration) or equivalent professional experience required
Minimum 15 years' experience in employee benefits consulting, with a proven track record of leadership, strategic planning, and field service
Demonstrated success in a similar executive role, ideally within a middle market and large group retail broker environment
Comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits plans, current healthcare trends, and industry challenges
Advanced communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with executive stakeholders and decision makers
In-depth understanding of insurance and benefits legislation, rules, and regulations
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite

Preferred

Graduate degree or MBA preferred
Experience in a PE-backed, fast-paced, and rapidly growing organization highly preferred
Professional certifications such as CEBS and Life & Health licenses strongly preferred
