Hardware Engineer Antenna Lead - Kwajalein Atoll - 3485

The Hardware Engineer Antenna Lead will be responsible for leading complex structural repairs and modernization projects, ensuring technical soundness and providing maintenance support for radar hardware systems.

Responsibilities
Lead various disciplines in the completion of technically complex structural repairs and refurbishment projects
Responsible for design and implementation of improvement and modernization (I&M) projects
Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and develop steps for their proper execution
Calculate the loads and stresses acting on ALTAIR Antenna and other structures on Kwajalein Atoll
Prepare reports, designs and drawings
Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately
Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction
Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure
Maintain the project schedule and budget
Monitor and inspect all work undertaken to ensure structural soundness
Provide operations and maintenance support for radar hardware systems
Apply advanced technical principles, techniques, theories and concepts that will help solve sometimes unusual complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative

Qualification
Required
Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials and legal regulations
Sound understanding of physics and mathematics
Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines
Three-dimensional conceptual skills
Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Meticulous attention to detail with the superb organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communications skills are required including the ability to interface directly with external customers
Proficient using Windows Office Suit and MS Project
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering
Five (5) or more years of related experience
Experience in project management
Experience with using Visio, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and MATLAB
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
Willingness and physical ability to work at heights up to 150 feet
Willingness and physical ability to carry equipment weighing 40 pounds unassisted
Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
Preferred
Weapons test range systems O&M experience is desirable
Professional Engineer license, preferred
Certifications in Non-Destructive Testing methods such as Ultrasonic Testing, Die Penetrant, and Mag Particle are preferred
Certifications in Corrosion Prevention and Control are preferred
