They are seeking an Entry Level Bridge Engineer to join their Richmond Office, where the candidate will utilize structural analysis software for design and collaborate with the Bridge and Rail Team.
Logistics & Supply Chain
Responsibilities
Utilize structural analysis software for design, such as: Leap Bridge Concrete, Leap Bridge Steel, Open Bridge Modeler, STAAD, SAP2000, etc
Complete design tasks with supervision and learn to work independently
Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines and construction team
Become familiar with various structural standards and building codes such as: AASHTO, AREMA, and UPRR/BNSF guidelines
Compile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design studies
Prepare cost estimates
Prepare construction documents
Collaborate with Bridge and Rail Team and all company disciplines
Conduct bridge inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
0 to 2 years of experience
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
Availability and willingness to travel
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Preferred
Master's degree in Structural Engineering
EIT certification
Intern experience
Experience with VDOT projects
Experience with MicroStation and/or Open Bridge Modeler
Experience with STAAD, SAP2000, or similar
