Electrical Designer I
CMD Corporation is dedicated to building lifelong partnerships and providing high performing equipment and solutions. The Electrical Designer I will support the design and documentation of electrical systems and components, collaborating with engineers to develop accurate schematics and layouts that meet project requirements.
Manufacturing
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain accurate drawing packages, including electrical layouts, schematics, details, and assemblies
Collaborate with engineers and team members to design electrical systems and components that meet project specifications
Perform layout and design of assemblies, including selection of components and materials as needed
Specify components, manufacturing tolerances, and structure bills of material to support production and assembly
Resolve design-related issues during prototype production using effective communication and problem-solving skills
Utilize AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS Electrical to create and update design documentation
Maintain drawing accuracy and support quality by reviewing and checking design work
Assist in special projects and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance design practices and support innovation
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
Support CMD’s values and contribute to customer success
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical; familiarity with AutoCAD
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Collaborative spirit and strong communication skills
Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements
Attention to detail and an eagerness to learn
Associate's degree in design
3+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably in a manufacturing environment
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer
Capacity to use standard office equipment such as computer, telephone, and videoconferencing
Capacity to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, and hard hat as needed
Ability to tolerate exposure to moderate levels of noise, vibration, and varying temperatures in a manufacturing environment
Ability to follow health and safety guidelines and protocols including emergency procedures
Regular, predictable attendance is required
Must be authorized to work in the United States and adhere to CMD's confidentiality agreement(s)
