Crystal Valley is a full-service cooperative serving the needs of livestock producers and crop farmers in south central Minnesota and northern Iowa. They are seeking highly motivated Grain Interns for the summer months to gain valuable insight into the grain industry through mentorship and real-world experiences.

Responsibilities

Develop a deeper understanding of the grain business and industry

Learn the origination strategies and contracts that aid in the procurement of grain

Gain a better understanding of futures, basis, options, and typical market trends

Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective customers

Assist in educating customers on current market trends, grain quotes, contract alternatives and grain marketing programs

Learn to communicate agricultural commentary as it relates to local and global agricultural economies

Understand and perform day-to-day grain operations including loading and unloading of grain, equipment maintenance and housekeeping and loading of unit trains

Assist in creating and editing grain contracts

Work with the most up-to-date software and technology within grain industry

Opportunity to operate locomotive during loading of unit trains

Attend training, professional development and continuing education opportunities
