Senior RPG Free Programmer Analyst, Interface
Health Prime is seeking a Senior RPG Free Programmer Analyst to join their remote Interface and Integration Team. The role involves leading the analysis, design, and implementation of enhancements and applications using RPG Free Format on IBM i, ensuring compliance with healthcare data standards and providing production support.

Responsibilities
Lead analysis, design, specifications, code review, testing, and implementation of enhancements and new applications using RPG Free Format (ILE) on IBM i (AS/400) with embedded SQL
Answer questions and assist other developers
Develop and maintain Interface Import application programs, ensuring high availability, accuracy, and compliance with healthcare data standards (e.g., HIPAA)
Collaborate with analysts, stakeholders, and business units to gather requirements and deliver robust technical solutions
Provide production support and system troubleshooting for integrated systems
Manage onboarding projects for new clients, including planning, execution, and documentation
Provide backup development support for other IBM i applications as needed
Monitor system jobs on a rotational basis, resolving or escalating issues promptly
Document code, processes, and system design for long-term maintenance and audit purposes
Perform occasional assignments outside normal job responsibilities as needed
Qualification
Required
High School Graduate
Minimum 7 years of IBMi RPG Free, SQLRPGLE, and CLLE programming experience
Advanced-level knowledge of SQLRPGLE, CLLE, and subfile programming
Strong communication, analytical thinking, and self-management skills
Expert-level programming, testing, and debugging with RPG Free Format (ILE), SQLRPGLE, and CLLE
Proficient in SQL and subfile programming
Strong problem-solving skills, able to analyze data and draw accurate conclusions
Ability to ensure all development aligns with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences – must present well to clients
Strong active listening skills; seeks clarification when needed
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy
Collaborative team player committed to the success of the team and organization through automation and innovation
Takes ownership of work quality, timeliness, and results
Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours of computer work daily)
Ability to switch between multiple computer screens and applications efficiently
Attendance at mandatory meetings and training sessions (2-8 hours in duration)
Preferred
Healthcare Information Technology experience
Agile Scrum methodology experience
Working knowledge of HL7-based integration
Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech
Experience with web services, JSON/XML, APIs, and IFS
Experience using Jira for project tracking
Experience with Aldon Life Cycle Manager or similar change management tools
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
