SPECIAL ASSETS PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Whitaker Bank, Inc. is seeking a Special Assets Portfolio Manager to provide loan workout and collection activities across all business lending lines. The primary role focuses on loss mitigation through active credit collection and managing the Bank’s Other Real Estate Owned properties while ensuring compliance with banking regulations.

Banking

Responsibilities

Responsible for active management of criticized, classified or delinquent credits
Capable of applying credit officer, asset management and risk management principals
Manage portfolio of collateralized assets
Evaluate financial information, collateral, legal documents and available information to project probable exposure to loss and recommended workout strategy
Often serve as primary contact with in-house and outside counsel in workout and collection case management. Experience and knowledge around legal documents, loan covenants and loan agreements
Calls on delinquent loan customers to get payments or set up an updated payment plan
Provide reporting on Special Assets portfolio
Assists in management of the Bank’s Other Real Estate Loan Portfolio of properties
Composes, prepares and issues correspondence such as internal memorandums and letters to customers or contractors
Provides effective customer service and assists in resolving problems within given authority

Required

Minimum 2 years commercial lending or commercial workout experience
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a 4-Year college or technical school; or 5 years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies
Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; and word processing, spreadsheet and graphical software programs
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees
Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
Effective organizational and time management skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties
Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities
