Lead Software Systems Engineer
Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiatives in various parts of the United States. They are currently seeking a Lead Software Systems Engineer to lead the design and architecture of complex software systems while supporting all phases of the software systems development lifecycle.

Responsibilities
Lead the design and architecture of complex software systems, including cross-functional integration and future scalability
Develop, modify, and maintain applications using manufacturer engineering releases, utilities, and best practices
Conduct in-depth systems programming, analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation
Create high-level system design diagrams and oversee technical project direction and scheduling
Evaluate and recommend application tuning tools to optimize performance
Ensure compliance with DoD architecture standards and open systems interoperability requirements
Evaluate, recommend, and implement hardware/software updates, upgrades, and emerging technologies
Oversee quality assurance reviews, performance evaluations, and compatibility assessments of software products
Provide advanced operating system maintenance, including telecommunications networks, file maintenance routines, and scientific/mathematical software packages
Instruct, mentor, and review the work of other engineering personnel
Support all phases of the software systems development lifecycle and evaluate new and existing products for operational efficiency and effectiveness
Support system administration activities to operate and maintain critical DoD systems and applications
Conduct application sizing and tuning, monitor performance, and prepare monthly reports on resource-intensive jobs, with recommendations for improvement
Perform middleware support activities to ensure operational efficiency
Update all life-cycle documentation to reflect changes or modifications and maintain a controlled document repository with version control
Ensure backup validity, execute contingency plans, and conduct O&M activities at disaster recovery sites as needed
Develop and maintain data archive processes to meet performance goals while ensuring required financial data availability
Qualification
Required
Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC). (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
Must hold a Bachelor's degree in a IT related field
Must hold a relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority
Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority (e.g., Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – Java SE or Oracle Database)
Must be willing and able to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours
Preferred
Understanding of Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP)
Background in SQL / PSQL queries and coding
Lead systems engineering efforts on large-scale DBMS, and ability to support the development of complex software to satisfy critical business requirements
