Start in 2026 SummerNextPort.AI is looking for a CAD intern to join their Honolulu office, where they will be mentored by talented team members. The role involves transforming rough designs into finished documents, drafting detailed drawings, and assisting in the preparation of engineering drawing packages.

Responsibilities
Transform initial rough designs and mark-ups into finished working documents
Draft detailed drawings of structures and installations such as cargo terminals, marinas, wharfs, bulkhead walls and coastal structures (beaches, revetments, breakwaters and jetties)
Review engineering drawings to ensure adherence to established standards
Compute volumes of excavations and fill for dredging and earthmoving projects
Assist designers and senior technicians with preparation of engineering drawing packages
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a degree in a CAD or Engineering Technology related pathway
Have taken classes in AutoCAD, Revit, or Civil 3D required
A copy of unofficial transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for the internship
Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
