Tool Engineer
Precinmac is a manufacturing company seeking a Tool Engineer to support tooling, applications, and programming for manufacturing processes. The role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure quality requirements and cost estimates are met while leading technical improvements in tooling technology.

Responsibilities
Assess value of current cutting tools as well as investigate and assess new tooling technology for continual process improvement
Lead Team Leaders and Programmers in proper selection of tooling on new projects with the intent of maximizing productivity
Perform the role of “technical consultant” in support of the machining operation
Assist with programming needs and support. This would include part programming, probing, and verification for program integrity
Assist with assessing the needs of the machining organization through PIT discussions and CNC programming hardware and software needs
Assist in CAR investigations to better understand root cause and prevention of non conformances throughout the operation
Write and maintain as required all TIL’s (Tool Information Letter)
Make AutoCad drawings
Provide Speed & Feed information and all necessary parameter data within the TDM system
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Intermediate computer skills including experience with AutoCad
A minimum of ten years in manufacturing with experience in CNC programming preferred
The employee is required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently
Near acuity and accommodation as required for reading computer screens, documents, machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery
Accommodations as required to communicate with internal and external customers and the ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
Normally works in a shop environment and may frequently be subject to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and production components, breathing fumes, dust and mist, skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids, and welding flashes
Attendance is an essential job function
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred
A minimum of ten years in manufacturing with experience in CNC programming preferred
