Responsibilities
Managing dynamic transportation design projects and tasks by utilizing communication, initiative, and follow through skills
Leveraging engineering knowledge and design technology to develop plans and documents for transportation projects that meet project goals and adhere to applicable design standards. Primary work area includes preliminary and final roadway and transit design
Mentoring team members and overseeing work of others, including design calculations and documentation, plan development, and agency design requirements
Providing independent technical reviews to ensure project quality control processes are followed
Assisting with project procurement, scoping, and budget development
Evolving innovation, best practices, and efficiency within areas(s) of specialty and across Isthmus
Evidencing continued commitment to individual, company, and industry improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering
Registration as a Professional Engineer in Minnesota, or ability to obtain the same within six months
Eight or more years of transportation design experience; project management experience a plus
Experience with MnDOT design and plan preparation a plus
Ability to communicate effectively
Strong time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in leveraging design as an aid to quality design and efficient plan production
Ability to maintain productivity in an autonomous environment
