The role involves preparing patients for procedures, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring accurate processing of X-ray images while maintaining professional interactions with patients and families.

Responsibilities
Prepare patients for procedures, providing clear instructions to ensure optimal results and reduce anxiety
Operate imaging equipment including general radiography, fluoroscopy, portable X-ray units, C-arms, and CT scanners safely and efficiently
Process and manage X-ray images accurately
Maintain professional interactions with patients and families
Complete all documentation related to imaging procedures, including exam orders, paperwork, and fiscal responsibilities
Determine appropriate positioning for exams based on patient condition and physical ability
Assist radiologists during procedures and ensure necessary supplies are readily available
Review patient charts and clinical data to identify any contraindications for procedures
Qualification
Required
Graduate of or eligible to graduate from a recognized, approved AMA program
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or registry eligible with certification by the ARRT pending
BLS required
Solid understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Proficiency in positioning patients to obtain accurate radiographs
Ability to manipulate imaging equipment effectively
Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital imaging systems
Willingness to train on new equipment and complete department-specific training checklists
Preferred
Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
