Responsibilities

Managing Water Resources tasks by utilizing communication, initiative, and follow through skills
Leveraging engineering knowledge and CADD technology to develop drainage plans and documents for transportation projects that meet project goals and adhere to applicable design standards
Mentoring junior team members and overseeing work of others in the Water Resources group, including design calculations, plan development, and agency design requirements
Technical writing, including memorandums, feasibility studies, applicable permits, and regulatory submittals
Documenting all design work and procedures; assisting with development and organization of documentation from other Water Resources team members
Assisting with project procurement, scoping, and budget development
Evolving innovation, best practices, and efficiency within Water Resources and across Isthmus
Evidencing continued commitment to individual, company, and industry improvement

Required

Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Registration as a Professional Engineer in Minnesota, or ability to obtain the same within six months
Two or more years of experience in urban and rural drainage and Best Management Practice design (Four or more years of MnDOT experience preferred)
Experience with Geopak Drainage and/or OpenRoads Designer, HydroCAD, HY-8, and other related hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, modeling, and design software
Ability to communicate effectively
Strong time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain productivity in an autonomous environment
Positive team-focused attitude

Preferred

Four or more years of MnDOT experience
