Responsibilities

Experience managing technical teams and interfacing with other engineering disciplines
Understanding technical scope development
Entry-level understating of common engineering design document deliverables
Understanding of design development and design review process (30%/60%/90%) with limited prior experience facilitating design reviews
Project Engineering Qualifications Test: All Project Engineers will be required to pass an Oral Qualifications Test within 12 months of their hiring date
Administrative Subcontract Technical Representative: All Project Engineers will be required to be qualified as an Administrative Subcontract Technical Representative (AdSTR) within 3 months of their hiring date
General Physical Mobility, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending
Specific Physical Mobility use of both hands, use of both arms, use of both legs, use of both feet, carry/lift up to 20 pounds

Required

Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and a minimum of 3 years of practical work experience necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above

Preferred

Advanced engineering or technical degree is highly desired
Basic knowledge of applicable codes and standards in common use at DOE and DOD facilities (ASME, NQA-1, IBC, IEBC, IEEE, NFPA, etc.)
Basic knowledge of applicable LANL standards (Engineering Standards Manual (ESM), Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Maintenance, Conduct of Operations, etc.)
Awareness of common project schedule and cost tracking methodologies and programs (P6, MS Project, EVMS, etc.)
Basic understanding of US government contracting or procurement methods/processes, specifically related to subcontract Architecture & Engineering agreements
Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable
