Responsibilities
Utilize algorithms to evaluate and process images
Analyze and develop algorithms to correct scientific image data containing aberrations, lensing defects, optical anomalies, distortions, non-linearity, etc
Qualification
Required
Active TS/SCI w/ full scope polygraph
BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or related technical field)
5 Years of experience in Software Engineering, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree
Experience evaluating, processing, and manipulating images beyond typical graphical editing
Technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred
MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related technical field)
Expertise in developing algorithms for object detection, feature extraction, and pattern recognition in high-resolution images, particularly from microscopes
Proficiency in stitching or combining multiple images into seamless mosaics, including handling alignment, blending, and geometric transformations for high-resolution microscopy data
Familiarity with image preprocessing techniques (e.g., noise reduction, contrast enhancement, edge detection) for microscopy data
Ability to handle large, high-resolution image datasets and optimize algorithms for performance and accuracy
Knowledge of training and deploying machine learning models for real-time or batch image analysis
