TRATON is one of the world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, and they are seeking a Validation Project Engineer to join their R&D Team in the United States. The role involves hands-on physical testing, validation, and development of commercial vehicle components while collaborating closely with design and analysis teams.

Responsibilities

Work closely with design, analysis, and program teams to develop test plans to achieve desired outcome

Coordinate test assembly and inspections with Lab Technician

Utilize hand and power tools (sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers, impact tools, drills, etc.) to assemble test setups

Design test fixtures using NX, AutoCAD, or other CAD systems

Select appropriate materials for durability and performance

Perform basic fabrication tasks needed for test preparations

Construct fixtures using Unistrut, angle plates, etc

Build and design controller boxes

Solder, wire, connect, and power various sensor systems

Develop scripts/programs using Arduino, Excel, VBA, nCode, LabView, and MTS software

Set up and operate sensors such as accelerometers, load cells, LVDTs, strain gages and more

Generate detailed engineering reports summarizing test plans, procedures, results, and data interpretation

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science

At least 5 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience

OR Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science

At least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience

OR PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
