Holafly is a fast-growing start-up that is changing how travelers connect to the internet abroad. They are seeking a Senior Backend Developer who can apply best practices in software development and take on responsibilities as a Software Architect, focused on operations and automation.

Responsibilities

Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment

Design and develop high-performance digital services (APIs, automatizations, ...) with a focus on maintainability and scalability

Help your colleagues with the evolution and deployment of high availability platforms in the cloud

Define and implement robust and scalable microservices architectures

Develop and maintain core business logic and data models

Write clean, well-documented, and testable code, ensuring code quality and efficiency

Incident investigation and resolution

Development of tools for the automation of tasks

Documentation and improvement of procedures

Interlocution and direct contact with the stakeholders and business analysts

Technical and planning monitoring of projects/initiatives

Guide and support your colleagues in their professional development

Collaborate with cross-functional teams working closely with frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers

Implement unit and functional tests

Promote and enforce best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation

Collaborate with the architecture team to define and evolve system architecture

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks

Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools

Required

5+ years working as a developer, with demonstrated expertise in Python + Django

Deep knowledge and experience developing microservices architectures, supported by the repository-service pattern to isolate dependencies on third-party libraries and connections from business logic

Knowledge and application of design patterns

Experience in testing with pytest

Experience managing N+1 Queries Problem (must)

Experience using Django on an asynchronous model

Proven expertise in reference web architectures

Proven experience in third-party application integration

Ability to work with legacy code

Basic knowledge of cloud providers and their main services

Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in Spanish and English (C1 minimum)

Initiative and problem solving skills

Teamwork and empathy towards colleagues and stakeholders

Results-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently
