Resident Engineer/Construction Manager, Airports

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee daily construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and safety requirements
Supervise and coordinate the work of inspectors, office engineers, and document control staff
Serve as the primary liaison between the contractor, client (MAA), and project management team
Review and respond to contractor submittals, RFIs, change orders, and claims
Monitor contractor progress, schedules, and compliance with project requirements
Maintain detailed records of field activities, inspections, and testing results
Chair progress meetings and prepare detailed meeting minutes
Ensure QA/CI/CM procedures are followed and documented
Provide technical guidance and resolve construction-related issues in the field
Support the client in cost control, claims evaluation, and schedule management

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
10+ years of progressive experience in construction management or resident engineering
In-depth knowledge of construction practices, codes, safety requirements, and quality standards
Strong leadership skills with ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams
Proficiency in construction/project management software (Primavera, MS Project, Procore, etc.)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and documentation skills

Preferred

Prior experience on aviation, transportation, or large-scale infrastructure projects strongly preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
CCM (Certified Construction Manager) or equivalent credential a plus
OSHA safety training (10/30-hour) desirable
