QA/QC Specialist

SPC Mechanical Corporation is seeking a QA/QC Specialist to perform essential functions of a Certified Weld Inspector on selected projects. The role involves managing QA/QC validators, overseeing weld quality, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

Manager QA/QC Validators (if any) assigned to the project, including managing the manpower required for this
Oversee, from a high level, the quality of production from the welders assigned to the project and ensure that the weld procedures are adhered to
Assist the team in developing and/or maintaining the site-specific QA/QC Manual, where required
Follow SPC’s standard procedures to create job-specific weld logs and naming conventions for the weld maps and ensure that all specifications/codes/standards/contract documents are met
Assist project teams in the coordination of the drawing/iso’s, Weld Maps
Assist SPC in maintaining a certification/calibration/continuity log for the assigned project, working with the company Construction Administrator
Participate in meetings as necessary
Assure all weld procedures are being followed
Assist with ensuring all work on the project jobsite is per project requirements and is done in a workmanlike manner
Other duties as required for project success

Required

CWI Certification
5+ years of QA/QC inspection
Current driver's license
Must be able to travel across the state to cover projects in a variety of areas (some travel may be required)
File and Paperwork organization (GDP) maintains good documentation practices
In-depth understanding of ASME Codes and state regulations (ability to navigate Local, state, and national codes)
Willingness to teach and coach others to improve
Full understanding of weld log, weld map, continuity log, and weld procedure requirements
Demand the highest quality of work
Communication skills between people of different backgrounds, personalities, and understanding levels
Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and contracts
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Create and track NCRs (non-conformance reports)
Once NCRs are created, they cannot be closed unless the task is completed and signed off by a supervisor
Ability to utilize multiple software platforms
Display a courteous and professional manner to customers and their representatives
Ability to investigate QC functions, piping, ductwork, or other HVAC/Plumbing items for craftsmanship, adherence to project drawings, project specifications, and manufacturer guidelines
