The role involves teaching undergraduate courses, supporting the Neuroscience BS program, and participating in departmental activities.

Responsibilities

Teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online undergraduate courses under a load of four courses in the fall semester and four courses in the spring semester (80% of work effort)

Teach psychology courses supporting the Neuroscience BS, such as Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive Neuroscience, and Career Foundations in Neuroscience

Teach a variety of class enrollment sizes based on departmental need

Teaching a large lecture section (e.g., more than 200 students) each semester should be expected

Serve on committees

Participate in student development activities

Perform administrative duties (20% of work effort)

Qualification

PhD in PsychologyTeaching ExperiencePedagogical KnowledgeContent ExpertiseInclusive TeachingStudent Development

Required

Earned (or all-but-dissertation (ABD)) a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in psychology or neuroscience related discipline

Demonstrated expertise in content areas needed to contribute to the Neuroscience BS program

Experience and demonstrated success teaching at the college level

Success in working with a broad population of students

Pedagogical knowledge for on-campus and online teaching

Preferred

Candidates who will have earned PhD by the position start date
