Intern - Policy (Summer)
The State of South Dakota is hiring policy interns for the summer session to gain hands-on experience in the Medicaid program. Interns will engage in meaningful work that impacts the lives of South Dakotans and prepares them for careers in healthcare administration or government.

Responsibilities
Researching and analyzing coverage of medical services
Reviewing and analyzing medical claims data to make recommendations
Developing and revising marketing materials
Identifying innovative practices
Analyzing medical services reimbursement rates
Assisting with other tasks as needed by the Division of Medical Services
Qualification
Required
Applicant must be a current part-time or full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours) in upcoming semester or in the immediately preceding semester
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
