This role involves supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing assistance with daily living skills, companionship, and promoting community integration.

Responsibilities

Empowerment & Mentoring: Mentoring someone on life skills, like cooking, cleaning, or managing a budget. Providing respectful, hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

Companionship & Behavioral Support: Providing companionship and emotional support, perhaps watching a movie, engaging in conversation, or helping with an evening routine. Serving as a compassionate partner and providing positive behavioral support

Community & Integration: Providing transportation to a job, a doctor's appointment, or a community event like a cooking class or a swim meet. Supporting individuals with their goals, from hobbies to helping them thrive in community-based jobs

Health & Wellness: Supporting health and wellness by administering medications, assisting with mobility, and preparing nutritious meals

Qualification

Required

A compassionate, patient, and encouraging attitude

18 years old or older

A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and valid auto insurance

A High School Diploma or GED

Ability to pass a background check

Preferred

Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Personal Care Aide (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a major plus
