Cybersecurity Chief Engineer

Responsibilities

Tracks technical status and reports issues with recommended solutions to technical director
Supports technical leads and provides cybersecurity technical leadership on all cybersecurity product area contracts
Cybersecurity subject matter expert
Monitor and report technical status of contracts, providing solutions to the Technical Director
Serve as technical lead on contracts when required
Identify, hire, train, and equip technical resources; ensure depth of staffing and define qualifications
Ensure accuracy and compliance of engineering artifacts with MERC standards; review quality, document lessons learned, and authorize deliverables
Lead business development efforts with DoD and commercial customers; maintain communication with senior leadership on program status and challenges
Act as primary customer liaison within the technical area and across MERC
Serve as capture manager for contract opportunities; lead proposal teams with Acquisition Strategy and Business Development leaders
Recommend training for new employees in the technical area
Justify budgets and resource allocations; provide capital investment requirements
Safeguard proprietary and competition-sensitive information

Required

U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD Security Clearance
Ph.D. in a relevant engineering field with 10 years' experience; OR Master's with 12 years; OR Bachelor's with 13 years
Leadership experience: 11 years with advanced degree, 13 years with undergraduate degree
Broad industry experience (aerospace, electrical, software, environmental, biomedical, mechanical, systems engineering)
Proven ability to lead diverse technical teams
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, analysis, testing, and design
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
Effective collaborator across engineering, technical, business development, operations, and client interfaces
Expertise in budgeting, cost management, and resource allocation
Skilled in reporting, program evaluation, and troubleshooting
Capable of business development activities including customer engagement, estimating, scheduling, and proposal development
