Penn Medicine is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to patients and is seeking a Chair of Anesthesia to lead its anesthesia department at Lancaster General Health. The Chair will oversee anesthesia services, lead a team of professionals, and drive clinical innovation and operational performance.

Responsibilities
Shape a vision for comprehensive, high-quality anesthesia care across inpatient and outpatient sites
Lead a talented team of 35 anesthesiologists and more than 60 CRNAs dedicated to exceptional care and safety
Drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring high reliability and zero harm
Partner closely with hospital and system leadership to align departmental goals with Penn Medicine’s mission and strategic priorities
Advance clinical innovation and operational performance through data-driven quality, safety, and efficiency initiatives
Oversee financial and resource stewardship, including budgeting, productivity, and operational planning
Promote professional growth and engagement across the department
Qualification
Required
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency
Board Certification in Anesthesiology
Eligibility for unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license
Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex healthcare organization
Proven ability to build teams, inspire collaboration, and achieve measurable quality and operational outcomes
