Clinical Applications Product Owner

Duo Health is a new type of medical group focused on providing comprehensive care for patients with chronic kidney disease. The Clinical Applications Product Owner will guide the customization and enhancement of clinical application technology, ensuring that the Canvas Medical EMR platform optimizes workflows and improves patient care delivery.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap for all clinical applications including Canvas Medical EMR customizations and enhancements aligned with organizational goals
Work with leadership to prioritize feature development based on clinical impact, regulatory requirements, user needs, ROI, and operational efficiencies
Partner with clinical leadership to identify workflow optimization opportunities within the Canvas platform
Serve as primary liaison between clinical staff, administrative teams, IT, and development resources
Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with physicians, nurse practitioner, Social Workers, Care Navigators, Patient Engagement Specialists, CDI specialists, Finance, and others
Translating clinical workflows and pain points into clear, actionable product requirements
Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate product decisions transparently
Conduct workflow analysis to identify opportunities for EMR-enabled efficiency gains
Design and validate solutions that improve clinical documentation, patient care delivery, and operational efficiency
Ensure customizations support compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST, MACRA, etc.)
Monitor usage patterns and gather feedback to drive continuous improvement
Work directly with leadership, internal, and external development teams to ensure understanding of requirements
Participate in sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
Focuses on quality, results, accuracy, performance, and security
Participate in vendor evaluation and selection process when necessary

Required

5+ years of experience in healthcare technology development experience as a product owner
3+ years of hands-on experience with Canvas Medical EHR/EMR systems
Developed product solutions specifically for home-based care delivery
Proven ability to translate clinical workflows into structured technical requirements
Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, CCD)
Exceptional communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
Excellent skills with MS Office, Google Workspace, and Atlassian suite (Jira and Confluence)
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with backlog and sprint ownership
Knowledge of population health management tools and workflows
Previous experience in a healthcare delivery organization

Preferred

6+ years of experience in healthcare technology
3+ years of hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems (Canvas Medical, Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar)
Background in clinical operations, healthcare IT, or health informatics strongly preferred
