Responsibilities

Manage display suppliers as the primary technical contact window to drive the best display module design and implementation
Define the validation plan of the display module and system for new programs and validate the display design, process, quality and reliability
Perform the characterization, measurement, test and evaluation of display panel , module, and the system
Identify any display related issues, perform the root cause analysis and provide recommendations to resolve any outstanding issues
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team including display ME, system EE, system FW, display OE , Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Supply Chain Manager, Display TPM, Reliability Engineer and other expertise
Perform the necessary measurements/ failure analyses and review results from the display vendors, module vendors, and cross-functional groups at Tesla to ensure the performance specifications are met
Identify all open engineering issues and drive suppliers to closure in a timely fashion to support project needs
Ensure display deliverables are met for engineering builds and initial ramp
Address issues from initial ramp and field returns related to displays

Required

Degree in Optical, Electronics and Electronic, or Physics or related field, or equivalent experience
5 years of LCD/OLED display development and product delivery experience
An in-depth understanding of display technologies, display module construction, display frontend and backend manufacturing process, display reliability, display quality and display electronics systems
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent project management, communication and teamwork skills required
Familiar with display metrology, color science, optical measurement equipment, data acquisition and visualization of insightful results including image quality, lifetime compensation
Familiar with high level coding languages like Matlab, Python, Minitab, JMP or any equivalent statistical analysis tools
