They are seeking an Equipment Tech who will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of clinical equipment in the Operating Room, ensuring a smooth operation during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the preparation, set-up, troubleshooting and coordination of services and repair for all clinical equipment in the Operating Room

Participates in the care, preparation and maintenance of equipment and supplies in the OR

Participates in the set-up, opening and breakdown of a case in the OR

Assists in transporting patients to and from the OR

Assists surgical team in preparing room for procedure

Assists the nurse with personal needs of the patient such as changing gowns, blankets, cleansing and positioning

Assures all equipment is properly checked by the Biomedical Department (i.e. sticker and appropriate date) and acts as a liaison with Biomed regarding product recalls

Assists in the assembling of equipment and supplies in preparation for various operative procedures performed by physicians or nurses

Cleans and returns equipment as necessary

Qualification

BLS certificationManual dexterityComputer systems knowledgeStress managementInterpersonal skills

Required

Graduate of an accredited high school BLS certification required

Must possess excellent manual dexterity and excellent hearing and visual acuity

Must possess excellent interpersonal skills

Must perform duties effectively in stressful/emergency situations

Must work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision

Assists in transporting patients to and from the OR

Assists surgical team in preparing room for procedure

Assists the nurse with personal needs of the patient such as changing gowns, blankets, cleansing and positioning
