Responsibilities
Lead development of strategic and tactical Safety Management System (SMS) implementation plans, in alignment with regulatory requirements and company objectives
Lead development of SMS documentation and related safety policies and procedures
Lead internal and 3rd party safety assurance activities (audits) of Waymo’s SMS
Lead development of enterprise-wide safety culture and promotion activities
Support enterprise-wide risk management
Qualification
Required
Minimum 10 years experience in performing safety, auditing, or related functions in automotive, aviation, nuclear, medical devices, or other safety-sensitive industries
4-year college degree
Preferred
Graduate degree in engineering or related discipline
SMP, PMP, or related safety management or project management certification
IATF-16949 or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or related quality management certification
Autonomous Vehicle industry experience with a focus on product safety, development, release, and deployment safety culture or safety leadership experience
