Responsibilities

Assist with federal income tax compliance and the preparation and review of federal tax filings included in Partnership K-1 statements
Contribute to financial reporting tasks and serve as a liaison to both external and internal audit teams regarding financial reporting issues
Participate in the quarterly and year-end tax provision process for Domestic Insurance Companies
Conduct tax research and support federal audit processes
Assist in preparing reconciliations and analyses of book-to-tax adjustments related to Insurance Companies’ general account investment activities
Collaborate with the ALM Finance Team to understand changes in financial reporting driven by investment activities
Work with System Operations to ensure tax-related data in the investment reporting tool is accurately captured
Assist with various ad hoc management requests and support ongoing process improvements

Required

Previous experience in an accounting for finance position preferred
Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
Strong organizational abilities, detailed oriented, ability to multi-task, prioritize independently, and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
Proactive in following up with project partners to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time
High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
Assertive, proactive, flexible, and creative approach to problem-solving
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting
Willingness to engage in non-technical department initiatives as needed

Preferred

Tax accounting experience is preferred but not required
Experience with CorpTax Compliance Software is a plus
