Responsibilities

Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices
Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and size/select mechanical equipment
Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications and reports
Assist in the development, production, and issuance of BIM documentation, using the necessary Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
Work independently on small projects, and/or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring shop drawing review, request for information (RFI) review, field inspections, and conflict resolution
Perform other duties as needed

Required

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software)
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred

Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experience
Revit experience is required
Previous HVAC experience
Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
Strong Communication skills, self-motivated, organized, attention to accuracy, detail oriented, flexible, and able to work both independently and with a project team to complete tasks
Teachable. Willingness to be mentored by senior-level mechanical engineers
Local candidates preferred
