Employee Relations Specialist - Full Time, Employee Relations (Harrah's SoCal)

Caesars Entertainment is a leading hospitality company, and they are seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join their team at Harrah’s Resort Southern California. The role involves addressing Team Member concerns, providing counsel on company policies, and supporting employee engagement initiatives.

Food and Beverage

Responsibilities

Act swiftly to address Team Member concerns; conducts comprehensive investigations and recommends appropriate action based on company policy and procedure and employment laws
Provide counsel to Team Member and all levels of management on company policies and procedures
Leverage data and feedback to make recommendations on employee engagement and retention measures
Support the planning and execution of recognition and engagement activities
Support all functions of Human Resources as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required; college and SHRM-CP or related certification preferred
Two years' experience in Employee Relations required
Must have current knowledge of laws and regulations regarding employment
Extensive knowledge and/or experience in providing guest service
Demonstrated ability to make decisions, be objective, and handle difficult Team Member issues
Possess strong communication (written & verbal) both in one-on-one and group settings
Strong organizational and documentation skills required
Strong ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team
Must be able to properly manage confidential information
Must have excellent active listening, conflict management and negotiation skills
Must possess a strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for a wide range of responsibilities
Must present a well-groomed professional appearance
Maintain upbeat and positive attitude
Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and occasional nights
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and carry up to 5 pounds
Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area
Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a phone, pc computers/laptops, fax machine and photocopier
Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations
Must be able to weigh facts and make recommendations that best support culture and goals of the Company
Must be able to organize and prioritize work
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be able read, write, speak, and understand English
Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues

Preferred

College and SHRM-CP or related certification preferred
Hospitality/retail experience preferred
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) preferred
Ability to speak, read and write Spanish is strongly preferred
